Hello, welcome to weezie's world. I'm Mary,
so today my mom told me about Lisa from the website, overthebigmoon.com.
and she told me about how
she and her husband canceled Christmas, let me explain...
she doesn't take away any of the SUPER fun things
like, decorating or, cookies or anything like that.
so, she has three sons, and the whole family is good on money, food, and things like that.
but her kids have been acting ungrateful lately. They expect so much even when their behavior is disrespectful.
so, her husband, John said, “we should just cancel Christmas.” And, so that’s what they did.
Instead they are taking the money they would have spent on presents and put it towards service projects and giving gifts to others this season. they are trying to teach them the pleasure of giving rather than continuing to feed their childhood desire for more.
and my personal opinion is
that this is a really good idea.
they will still get presents from people like grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
and that this will show them what it is like to
not get gifts on Christmas morning.
but they still get the fun of the holidays.
OK well that was my opinion on that, so now I'm just going to tell you about my blog.
well I'm going to try to blog every day in the month of December,
and tell you about everything I have done or will do that day, and hopefully...
PICTURES!!!!
so, sometime in the next couple of days I will be doing gingerbread houses at the
Henderson county public library for $5 a person . it's been a family tradition for a couple years now, you will have to call to make reservations.
so if you are avid readers of my blog, you would know that every year on Christmas day I go to the Stoney creek inn, it's SO fun. it has a awesome pool that has these flaps and you go through them to be in an outside swimming pool, but don't worry the water is pretty warm so your hair is the only thing that gets cold, last year my brother, Jamie's hair was wet and then his hair totally froze and it was white and he looked like jack frost.
here's a picture from a couple years back.
this is my dog Josie when we were at the stoney creek in two years ago.
don't mind her eyes, the lights were off in the room and the camera's flash was on.
me, right, my older sister Hannah, left.
my cat buster.
me and my cat buster.
this is every single one of my siblings,
lets start all the way to the left,
okay
Krystal, Lyndsay, Kayla, Grace, Jamie, Hannah, Daniel, me, Mercy, Sam.
this actually on my 8th birthday.
this I think was 4 years ago. this is my mom, at VBS she was dressed to be Mabel.
well that's all.
today's tip, be thankful.
thanks for coming to weezie's world! bye bye!
