Hi, welcome to Weezie's world. I'm Mary. my mom gives me weird assignments.  the one she gave me today is what animal I would be if I could be one.

the holidays are coming so you will need a good sugar cookie recipe.

so I will give you one.

Soft Sugared Sugar Cookies

2/3 c shortening
2/3 c butter, softened
1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 t vanilla
3 1/2 c flour
2 t baking powder
1 t salt
1/3 c sugar for decoration

Preheat the oven to 350.

Cream the butter, shortening, and sugar for 4-5 minutes on medium speed until it is light and fluffy.  Add the eggs and vanilla.

Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.  Whisk.  Add to the creamed mixture.  Mix until it comes together.  Roll into walnut-sized balls and roll in the sugar.  I used colored sugar crystals but regular sugar would work fine. 

Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly browned.

Remove and cool.

I think I said that I would tell you what animal I would be if I could be one.

I think I would be a camel so I could give people rides.
